5 Years of Merumaya

The skincare brand y'all need to try, ASAP.

Merumaya is a brand I discovered almost two years ago and ever since, their products have been firm staples in my skincare routine. Headed by Maleka Dattu, Merumaya is a breath of fresh air in the skincare market, offering highly researched and effective products for a modest price. The brand is celebrating their fifth birthday this week, and they are offering a fab deal for their loyal customers. In the set, you get a handy #BeautyHasNoAge makeup bag, a muslin cloth, and then four products to try, two of which are old favourites for me. The first is the Youth Preservation Moisturiser SPF 20* (travel size), which I reviewed here and is still my go-to moisturiser. It has a great texture, being nourishing without weighing down the skin, and it works really well under makeup. The Melting Cleansing Balm* (travel size) is one of Merumaya's most popular products, and it is an ultra-nourishing cleanser that melts away makeup and leaves the skin feeling baby soft. I love using this cleanser in the morning too for a hit of hydration, it's a must for dry skin and well priced compared to a lot of other balm cleansers.

Then there are two products that are new to me, the first being a full size (!) of the Mud Marvels Mask*. I have been meaning to try this mask for a very long time as I've always heard great things, and I'm actually using for the first time whilst typing up this post. It is formulated with Activated Charcoal and Volcanic Ash to draw out impurities and deep cleanse the skin, as well natural AHAs to remove dead skin cells, and a myriad of replenishing oils including Vitamin E, Oat Oil, Sweet Almond Oil and Cocoa Butter.

Finally, there is the Everything Everywhere Beauty Oil* (an adorable travel size), a product which for some reason I hadn't really considered. It has a gorgeous lightweight yet nourishing texture, and Merumaya's signature essence works to make this a really luxurious feeling product on the skin. It is packed full of oils (Kahai Oil, Squalane, Oat Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Jojoba Oil and Vitamin E) to nourish and hydrate the skin, as well as brighten and reduce lines and wrinkles. As well as the face, as the name suggests, you can use this everywhere, from the body to the hair and scalp. I'm hooked already and I've definitely got my eye on the full size. It will last forever as you get a whopping 50ml!

I would definitely recommend checking out Merumaya if you're on the look out for some new skincare products. My favourite products are definitely the Youth Preservation Moisturiser, the Hydrate & Protect Hand Cream and I also really love the Gentle Exfoliating Toner, which I reviewed here. I've tried a good amount of their products now, with the exception of a few, so the next products on my list to try are the Overnight Recharge Night Cream and the Iconic Youth Serum. I've got extremely high hopes for the serum as I've heard so many good things about it, and it is one of Merumaya's most popular products.
